HOUSING RESOURCES

WELCOME!

Our rental housing database is comprised of rental properties that local landlords have entered into our site. The database is updated regularly and can be searched by many criteria such as number of bedrooms, location, pets allowed, and cost. In late spring landlords begin entering their rentals for the next academic year, which begins in late August.

Prospective students will find this process easier to navigate if they follow these two recommendations:

1. We strongly recommend that students set up appointments with prospective landlords from their home prior to visiting South Royalton. This is especially true during the summer months when landlords may be on vacation.

2. Vermont Law does not become involved in matters between student tenants and landlords.

ROOMMATES

Vermont Law offers a roommate finder service, but we do not match students or find roommates for students. This service allows students to complete a roommate questionnaire describing their lifestyle and housing preferences. Once the questionnaire is completed and submitted, the form goes to the Housing Department. Students will receive a link to the Roommate finder website, via email, once the questionnaire is approved. Roommates matching a student's preferences entered will then be sent to them.

SEMESTER SUBLET

Vermont Law offers a semester sublet service for students to find sublet housing for all semesters except for the Summer Term.. This page is meant to help match students that need to sublet their housing for an academic semester to students that will need a sublet for an academic semester. Once the questionnaire is completed and submitted, the form goes to the Housing Department. Students will receive a link to the Roommate finder website, via email, once the questionnaire is approved. Roommates matching a student's preferences entered will then be sent to them.

TRANSPORTATION

Bus
Stagecoach Transportation Services is a public transit commuter service that runs a route from Montpelier, Vermont to Vermont Law School in South Royalton, Vermont. Students living outside of South Royalton may have the opportunity to ride the bus rather than driving each day. The commuter service also runs other routes serving Orange and Northern Windsor Counties.

Vanpool
The state of Vermont offers a very generous program for anyone interesting in vanpools. They work like carpools, except you can pay a monthly fee for gas, insurance, and repairs. Learn more here.

Carpool with Zimride
Zimride is a fun and easy way to share the seats in your car or catch a ride. With Go Vermont's partnership with Zimride, you can find others going the same way you are. When you register, you'll also be eligible for a guaranteed ride home should you miss your bus or carpool. Guaranteed ride home provides up to $70 toward a cab, bus fare, rental car, or Zipcar fee.

Zipcar at VLS
Need a car? Borrow a Zipcar! Vermont Law has partnered with Zipcar to bring self-service, on-demand car sharing to campus and the area. To use Zipcars, simply register as a member, reserve a car online or by phone, use your Zipcard to enter the car, and drive away. Return the car to the same location where you picked it up.
